Communion Plates

Holy Communion plates, also known as patens, are sacred vessels used during the celebration of the Eucharist in Christian liturgies. Typically made of metal, such as brass or silver, these plates have a shallow basin-like shape and are used to hold the bread or wafers that represent the body of Christ during the sacrament of Holy Communion. The use of patens dates back to ancient Christian traditions and serves as a reverent symbol of the sacredness of the Eucharistic elements.
